Kasanova Crudele “The Tale of Two Hearts EP”

Woodbridge’s very own Kasanova Crudele recently put out an EP this Valentine’s Day called “The Tale of Two Hearts”. This EP can be seen as a nice teaser and package that gets us excited for what else Kasanova Crudele has in store for us this year!

The story of the project involves two sides to love: An affectionate and shy side vs a lustful and resentful side. The first track of the project “Complicated”, produced by LTTB, is an upbeat song that resembles a Drake’s Controlla feel. It’s an impressive dance hall song that can easily be played in the clubs and be felt by the crowd. The vibrant music covers up the darker story of a guy who’s afraid to love because of his past relations but he can’t pass up on the temptations to touch and get lost in her soul.

A great example of the lustful and resentful side would be the song “Unpopular” which has almost 5,000 plays on SoundCloud and over 15k views on Youtube. In this track you see Kasanova battle with his emotions towards love and the pain that can come with it. He illustrates the resentment one feels as people/women begin to flock to him, yet ignored and curved them when they were “unpopular”. Partnered with the incredible visual that goes with the track, Kasanova’s thoughts and emotions are both palpable, and delivered in such a way you can feel the anger and story. The song will definitely have you reflecting on your relationships when you listen to it. He probably should’ve listened to his momma’s advice that he should “never trust a pretty face and a nice smile”.

I feel like this is more of a R&B project than a rap project. The quality of the music is top notch. Very solid project to lead up to the No Mistakes EP. This EP is a good project that it can stand out as its own project. I highly suggest checking out the project on SoundCloud!
