I’m sure we’re all aware of this past year’s many tragedies, from the injustice of Alton Sterling to Philando Castile, and most recently the abductions of the many young women in our nation’s capital. Today, in response to these occurrences, Miah releases Caged Bird on behalf of the #blacklivesmatter movement. Subtitled Channel Surfing, the 19-year-old artist appears to find himself tuning in and out of radio stations throughout the track, searching for the right channel when he stumbles upon his own track. He is also joined by up-and-coming artist, Vesta, who’s been on a bit of a hiatus as of late. Together, the duo recite in coherence what appears to be a potential black lives matter protest chant. Listen here, as the two artists have indeed put together a beautiful cry for help!
About The Artist
Miah Travis is a 19-year-old artist from Chesapeake, VA. The Virginia native has slowly paved a way for himself, especially off of the hype of his first track, 1999. Following up, he’s been working on his first music video for his song Mona Lisa via Altamira Film Company’s Spencer Seasley. Miah will be looking to put out his first body of work this year, naming it Loose Ends EP, as he’s already appearing to give us a single without a set date here in Caged Bird // Channel Surfing. Stay woke, as the up-and-coming artist appears to be attempting to make a major push this year.
